2022 Lunar eclipse

16 November 2022

We won't see anything like it until 2025, but on a cool windy November night, I set up at the top of Gan Gan lookout with two cameras to capture a timelapse of the blood moon eclipse. from 7pm through to just after midnight, the moon did a celestial dance with the earth providing a spectacle that was a wonder to behold.

The moon rose just behind Tomaree and a small low-hanging cloud bank was the only obstacle as the Full moon rose across the Tomaree peninsula. This image is a composite using a series of time-lapsed wide images to composite a more detailed image of the moon as it passed through the shadow of the Earth.
